Shoot Three ( Please view memory stick for footage)
It is safe to say that I was better prepared for this shoot and carefully planned details about location and lighting etc. The model was willing to talk about comedy on stage, which gave my documentary a clearer way forward than before. I had simply asked questions about comedy and here we had a direction. So much so that I was able to capture footage relating to the model in a very short space of time, resulting in this shoot being the biggest out of all completed. The difference to the previous shoots was that I set up the frame and the look of the shot, by using a plain background, a comfortable chair which made the style look more relaxed and also decided to had some props that were the models which linked to the subject matter. I think this works extremely well and adds a touch of colour to the cool tone of the piece. As I was doing this, an idea struck me to use footage from the models favourite series ‘Frasier’ in order to do that, I would have to buy or find copyright free footage. Or I could screen record it through Quicktime as I own the series. It is something to think about perhaps. But it has given me ideas about different shots for the final film. In terms of lighting, I used a skylight which served well as an overall light, highlighting the chair and hair nicely. A small reflector was also used just to bounce some light onto the model. I am pleased with this element of the shoot and am reminded of my other work for narrative. Perhaps I am perfecting a skill. Shooting in the local theatre was an experience as the lighting had been set up for a show so was difficult to work with. I need to enhance the ISO but the noise or grain increase that therefore wasn’t as successful. Also, I was pushed for time due to this show so if I have time, I would like to go back and try again. Some of the angles of the shots were well thought about and I think I have managed to capture all that the model talked about. This shoot has to be the best so far as it took on board the issues in the previous shoots and was well thought out about. I am going to complete another shoot with another model yet this may be a final shoot.
